Mr. Pinto is a senior member of the team responsible for the origination, evaluation, structuring and negotiation of asset acquisitions and divestitures, and structured energy transactions, with a special focus in Latin America.
Mr. Pinto joined JPMorgan in 2011 with responsibility for Commodity Finance and Structured Commodity Transactions for Latin America based in New York. He has fourteen-years experience originating and executing in excess of $2.5bn of project financings, structured financings, and acquisition financings in Latin America across different sectors including power, oil & gas, infrastructure, and mining.
Prior to JP Morgan, Mr. Pinto worked at Credit Agricole (formerly CALYON) in the Latin American Project Finance Team in New York and in the Latin American Credit Markets Team, relocating for 18 months to Sao Paulo. Mr. Pinto has deep market experience in the region and relationships with the largest Latin American private and state-owned corporations, and investors active in the region. Mr. Pinto led several complex transactions in the energy space involving PPA restructurings, structured commodity transactions, M&A and non-recourse acquisition financing, greenfield project financing, and distribution of credit risk.
Prior to banking, Mr. Pinto worked in Colombia in the development of residential and commercial real-estate projects.
Mr. Pinto graduated from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and has a graduate engineering degree from Northeastern University.
Mr. Pinto is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
