Matthew Ginzberg is a principal at Arroyo and has worked with the team since 2007. Mr. Ginzberg is responsible for all aspects of deal origination, particularly in Latin America, structuring, diligence and commercial activity during the pendency of ownership. In addition, Mr. Ginzberg is responsible for overseeing analysis and diligence efforts and the investment committee process.
Since joining the Arroyo team, Mr. Ginzberg has worked closely on the development of the Florida Biomass conversion opportunity. Mr. Ginzberg’s role primarily involved managing the development activities including, minority partner negotiations, evaluation of engineering studies and selection of EPC providers. He also worked through budgeting and investment approval process, negotiated construction contracts and monitored construction process. In addition Mr. Ginzberg has been largely responsible for origination of midstream and power opportunities in Latin America.
Prior to joining Arroyo, Mr. Ginzberg worked in the J.P. Morgan commodities sales and trading business in the Principal Investments group which focused primarily on financial investments in the energy and commodities space.
Also at J.P. Morgan, but prior to joining the commodities sales and trading business, Mr. Ginzberg held roles in the Securitized Products group where he was responsible for the structuring and marketing of student loan and credit card receivable-backed securitization trusts. In this role, Mr. Ginzberg structured, marketed and closed over $20bn of asset-backed securities including over $750m of principal securitizations.
Mr. Ginzberg graduated from The Lerner College of Business and Economics, University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Finance with minors in Economics , Management Information Systems and significant course work in Chemical Engineering. Mr. Ginzberg has also spent time studying at the University of South Australia and Beijing Normal University.
